Put into service on 6/29 and it "lost its refrigerant charge" by 9/19, when I first called 800-944-9044. Was told an RGA would be sent via email. It was not. Called again on 9/26 and Jenn said I'd receive an email within 5 days. None received, so I called on 10/6 and Johnny gave approval 86686185. Received email on 10/10 stating that replacement was approved. Have heard nothing since. Called again today and Charlie told me to call 319-777-7182 with order number 7701808508, where Denise had no record and recommended I call Fareye at 315-633-3329, which replied "user busy" several times. Your Customer Service is broken and I will not purchase any Refrigidaire appliances in the future.

First unit lasted 11 months, given a replacement which only lasted 2 months. My basement humidity is 60 %year round -without a dehumidifier, temperature 70 degrees year round or higher. The unit they replaced with was mfg 19 months before I got it. I set humidity level to 50%. Not a high humidity environment. When I called to have them replace the replacement unit they said it was beyond a year. But you sent me a faulty replacement! $450 for product that is junk! Frigidaire products are going down hill!

Second unit that has stopped dehumidifying because of a refrigerant leak. First one lasted 2 months, this lasted 2.5 months! Wow. For supposedly a long-standing good brand, I don't know if I'd ever buy a Frigidaire product ever again.

I have tried over the past several years a broad variety of dehumidifiers that typically would last only 2-3 years. It was as though they were designed to last just long enough for the warranty to expire. When the humidity got to high the unit couldn't keep up. This higher capacity model cost more than I paid for the ones in the past but WORKS BEAUTIFULLY. Our outdoor humidity has been in the 90% range for several days now and this unit can keep up with the humidity indoors. What a relief! I am very pleased the unit accepts a standard garden hose for running continuously. If you don't want the continuous operation the water will collect in the drawer that is removed from the FRONT of the unit to empty. The only downside to this product is the weight of about 80 lbs. A standard electrical circuit with a 15 amps fuse/circuit breaker is fine.

I™™ve had the unit for one year and it stopped working. RH stuck at 75%; I went on vacation and came back to find an old car seat adjacent to the unit covered in mold. The unit was in a closet in my basement at the time in continuous drain, set to 50% RH. Troubleshooting recommendations in the manual only suggest to lower RH on the panel, which is common sense.

This is by far the best dehumidifier we have ever had. We previously had to run two dehumidifiers in our 1600 square foot basement. This one works alone effectively and keeps our basement at a comfortable dry. It actually removed musty odors out of the basement. Great purchase with a great sale price!

This is my second Frigidaire dehumidifier. The first lasted 7 years, so I did not hesitate to purchase another one. I would have given 5 Stars, but the new model lets you know the bucket is full only on the tiny control panel, whereas the old model had a bright light on the front that I could see from across the garage. It may seem petty, but it's inconvenient to have to walk up to the machine to check when a glance used to accomplish this. Also, the bucket itself seems much less sturdy. The garage is staying nice and dry and this machine runs very quietly, so I'm confident we will get several years of use from Frigidaire again.

Larger and noisier than our old 70-pint unit, and a few quirks
kc42g
7/16/2023
This 60-pint unit replaced our old 70-pint Whynter unit. The new unit is much larger physically, and much much louder, even when it's not in Turbo mode. The new unit arrived with one wheel popped off, and one of its internal screws had sheared off and was rattling around inside the collection bucket. The gray text on a black background makes the control panel difficult to read in dim light. The compressor won't ever kick on, no matter what the humidity is, unless we press "Cont. Drain" and always leave that setting on. The collection bucket has a partial top on it, which is nearly impossible to remove without breaking something. I wanted to clean the bucket initially, as it contained some plastic debris, and it took forever to get the top of the bucket removed for cleaning. It does the job, but because the "Cont. Drain" setting must be on for it to work, we have to rely on setting the timer to avoid having it run constantly. Overall, it's a step backward from what we had before.

My house is super tight. Once the house is cool, the AC doesn™™t run much so it doesn™™t have the time to remove a lot of humidity. I put this dehumidifier in my master bedroom initially (abt 700 sq ft including closets and bathroom). It took the humidity from 65% down to 45% in a matter of hours. Then I moved it to the attic. All of the humidity rises to our attic. It™™s been running there for a few weeks and has kept the 1500 sq ft area consistently at 45%, just as it™™s programmed to do. I™™m not sure how often it runs (it™™s drains automatically up there) but it™™s probably most of the time. Very happy with its capacity and performance. Hopefully it will last for years. I™™m considering buying another for the basement, where I have a built in dehumidifier that isn™™t really doing it™™s job.

This Frigidaire dehumidifier replaces a Danby unit that failed last Fall after about two and a half years of service. I thought It would be easy to operate, but the function of the controls does not exactly match the manual. For instance, it cannot operate in the continuous drain mode while set to automatic, which means I would have to carry the collection tub upstairs to dump it daily. Also, while in the continuous drain mode, you cannot set the unit at the desired humidity level. I have the output from the continuous drain mode channeled into a condensate pump that empties outside. It has lowered the percentage of humidity in my basement from the low 60s to the low 50s, so I know it is working, but I would prefer to be able to control all the settings.

Keeping the basement humidity low in lieu of an AC!
Andrea Dee
7/5/2023
Been using this 60 pint dehumidifier for a week now, and so far I am very happy with it. Our ~800 sq. ft. recently-renovated basement was having humidity levels in the low 70s now that it's summer, but it stays cool enough down there where installing an AC to fight the humidity would just make it uncomfortably and unnecessarily cold. This dehumidifier is now keeping the humidity between 45 and 55 (it cycles on and off), and the tank is large enough that we only have to empty it roughly every 36-48 hours now that the humidity is stable and lower (the first 2 days we had it, it needed to be emptied about every 24 hours). I can't speak on the continuous drain feature because we don't have floor drain, but so far I definitely recommend this dehumidifier.

We had a Frigidaire dehumidifier that lasted over 30 years. It finally died last year so we bought this model on 6/11/22 to replace it. It worked perfectly throughout the summer and autumn of 2022. It went unused (drained, cleaned, and unplugged) through the winter. Last week (6/19/23) I plugged it back in because the basement is getting damp again. The fan went on but even after four days of operation, no moisture is collecting in the bucket. I got one season of use before it died! Frigidaire quality is not close to what it used to be. I'm glad I read the reviews before buying. Because of them, I bought the extended warranty (you should too!) Hopefully it will provide coverage for this. Buyer beware!

Good working dehumidifier IF it lasts
Terriers
6/14/2023
This dehumidifier is a replacement for the exact same model we got in 8/21. It has a large capacity and worked very well til 2022. Then it stopped working. For an appliance that is only used in the humid, summer months this was a huge disappointment. Fortunately, the store we bought it from swapped it out for a new one. So far, it's working great but I certainly hope it lasts a few years at least! Only downside is having to dump the water out of the bucket because it's pretty heavy. Attaching a hose won't work in our situation.

Good Large Area Heavy Dehumidifier
Watermark145
6/6/2023
Dehumidifier is very good, a lot of features / functions options. Dehumidifier is good for a large heavy humid area, best if a constant drain option hose option is used to handle the remove water. Best to use in a stationary location. Unit is on good wheels to roll. Unit is too heavy in weigh to move. Water collection bucket is large volume bucket, about 7 gals. Unit works great for damp heavy humidity environments like a basement.

I was very impressed with this model. I didn™™t realize how much moisture was in my basement until I starting using it. Now if your basement is like mine after about three days you will have to empty it unless you have it drain which I am in the process of doing so I don™™t have to manually do it myself but nonetheless it really isn™™t a big deal. I immediately smelt the difference after a few hours and after a day or so constantly running it was great. Also easy to clean as well and maintain it.

We switched over to Frigidaire just recently from Homelabs. Their units broke just after the maximum 2 year warrantee expired and didn't offer extended warranty or service on their own units?? We have only had your unit in for a month but can already tell the quality of the unit, air flow, accessibility to cleaning and overall quality of maintaining humidity is far superior.

I was initially planning to purchase the 50 pint, but I'm glad I went with the maximum capacity. I have a high-humidity small/medium room I'm primarily using it in and I'm consistently impressed by the volume of water it is pulling out of the air. I do move it between rooms, and it can be a little big and heavy to get up and down stairs, but it's well worth the effort for the impact that it has. Highly recommended!

These dehumidifiers only last 1-2 seasons
CH21
11/13/2022
I hope a Frigidaire customer relations person will read this review and will pass along the information to the people that maybe can do something about the fact that these dehumidifiers consistently only last 1-2 seasons. The last one to stop working was a model FFAP033T1E, a 70 Pint unit. The original unit, model FAD704DWD had a 5 year warranty, so it was replaced 5 times!!! Each unit showed the dreaded FO error code after 1 or 2 seasons. I have seen many reviews in several sites, including some in this site where people complain about their units dying after just 1 or 2 years of use. Even the new models, which are now 60 pints units, are getting reviews saying the same thing. How is it possible that Frigidaire has not solved the problem that is causing the units to stop working after such a short time? The people responding to some of the reviews here appear surprised at the reviews that complain of their unit dying, when in fact they probably get hundreds of complaints like this daily. I also found out that the warranty has now been decreased from 5 years to 1 year! This means that there is no chance of getting a replacement once the unit dies after 1 or 2 seasons.I really like the dehumidifier while it's working. Its has nice features and works well, but not for long. I was actually considering purchasing one of the new 60 pint models, but then I saw reviews complaining about the same issue! It is really a shame that Frigidaire continues to sell these units that they know will fail within 1-2 years and will have to be thrown out, most probably going to landfills and have a terrible effect on the environment.I would like to ask Frigidaire to address this problem to try to improve their product. Why is it that the old dehumidifiers lasted for years and years (I have a Sears unit that has been working for about 40 years and still going!), but Frigidaire can't make a unit that lasts even 3 years?I implore Frigidaire to address the issue!!
